Records Retention for Drug Burn
Hello!
Once drug burn is completed, what is your record retention for the physical paperwork? We have Laserfisched the paperwork, but we have kept the hard copies too. What do you do?

Unless it's an actual Evidence document (suicide note, handwritten notes, cards, photo line ups, etc.) or Crime Scene Logs (per our State Attorney), once the item is scanned, that becomes the original and the hardcopy is shredded.
For drug burns, our physical paper is handed to the Clerk of Courts for the return. Before they are given to them, we scan them to our destruction case number.
