FDLE AGAIN RUNNING FES FOR OUT OF STATE PERSONS
As many of you were made aware recently, FDLE had said they will no longer run backgrounds for the FDLE Firearm Eligibility System (FES) for nonresidents of Florida based on guidance they received at the federal level. As a result, Florida law enforcement agencies have been unable to release a firearm to a person that is not a resident of the state of FL and instead were limited to shipping the firearm to a FFL or a law enforcement agency in the state in which the owner resides.
We have been informed that this issue has now been resolved. FES should now be back up and a running and available for you to use to run background for FES for nonresidents of Florida.
