Chapter # 7 Meeting Minutes- (Zoom Meeting)
February 17, 2021

1) Meeting called to order by Chapter President Beth Fleet at 11:02 am

2) Attendance (See attached)

3) Approval of the Minutes (12/9/2020) Jim Choate made the motion to approve. Vicki Schmeckle seconded the motion. All present voted in the affirmative. Minutes were approved.

4) Fleet made an appeal for nominations for the office of secretary. None were entertained. (Note: Following the meeting, a Chapter 7 member volunteered via email.)

Old Business

5) Award nomination forms due to Fleet by 2/22/21

6) Membership Certificates-were emailed

7) Re-Certification, New requirements: Certified members will be responsible for maintaining:
a) Membership paid receipts and/or certificates
b) Conference attendance certificate(s) (Attend one conference over the 3 year period).
c) Chapter Meeting attendance lists (One meeting per year required)

8) Spring Conference Update – Registration open until 3/12/21. Late Registration ($50 add’l) 3/13/-4/16.

12) Round Robin: 1 challenge/1 good thing since we last met. Several meeting attendees shared experiences that occurred in their agencies since last December.

First Quarter Chapter 5 meeting of 2021 called to order at 1400 by Brandon Pannone

Speaker Bill Adams from Synexis did a presentation on the Synexis Bio-Defense System

Company has been in business 25 years

Main goal at this time, is to accommodate Law Enforcement, including Evidence Rooms and Jails

 

Founder, Jim Lee, of Synexis says “Synexis technology is the only technology specifically designed to defend against bioterrorism, outbreak, epidemic, and pandemic. The purposes of our technology are continuity of government, continuity of business, and workforce protection.”

 

DHP – Dry Hydrogen Peroxide – “A unique molecule designed to fight viruses, bacteria, mold, odors and insects.”

 

Virus and Bacteria cower to DHP

Mold issues – use DHP – it cleans the air in a couple days and then works on the surfaces within a couple weeks.

 

?? Would it work inside a refrigeration unit?

• Yes and would have to have the humidity above 20%

?? What is the square footage one unit can cover?

• 1500 sq ft = 1 unit and costs approximately $2.00 a square foot with a 12 ft ceiling

Naturally safe

• DHP concentrations fall far below acceptable safety limits for human exposure established by OSHA.

?? Cost

• Average cost
  • Blade $1700 which can cover a 1500 sq ft area
  • Sphere $2500 which can cover a 2000 sq ft area
  • Sentry $4200 which can cover a 2500 sq ft area

?? Are there recurring costs?

• Catalysts have to changed/replaced
• Light is replaceable no charge
• Blade – no additional charges only the round catalyst has to be replaced.
• Most maintenance/repairs can be done by agency/business personnel.
• Maintenance package available

 

 

Conference:

 

Beverly shared that the last day for Conference registration is April 16^th by 4:00 pm and only 11 spots left, so if you have not registered do it soon.

This year’s Conference will be extra special due to missing last years. As Brandon said “it’ll be like coming home.”

 

Brittany McDonnell (Lee Co Clerks Office) will be doing a presentation on that Sunday May 23^rd with Beth Fleet and Sheila Lustigman for Clerks Offices, if anyone interested in attending.

 

Brandon also is going to try and do a Chapter meeting while at the Conference.

Also the presentation was sent out by President Brandon Pannone to Chapter members and all Chapter Presidents if anyone is interested get with your Chapter president if it has not already been sent out.

 

Meeting Business:

 

From last meeting 2020: Treasury has $109 and 4 $25 Amazon gift cards that were purchased for Conference use as giveaways.

    • 60 days considered abandoned, but some agencies will send a letter. Within the letter, it gives them 30 days from receipt to pick it up or they will be destroyed. A certified letter proves an attempt to return; agencies worry about the reciprocity.
