Firearms from other agencies
Hello - I had an individual reach out to me to see if another law enforcement agency could mail his firearm to our agency so he could pick it up locally. This firearm is not associated with any of our cases. I was wondering if anyone accepts submissions like this to release to an owner, and if so what your process is as far as intake and release?

We also accept firearms from other agencies - our firearm detective will enter the firearm into the system and ensure that all the proper procedures have been completed regarding the firearm. We or the gun det will then contact the person in question to let them know that it has reached us and we can start the return process. We like to do an FES run ourselves.
